The legendary fifth-gen Chevrolet Camaro is still getting some aftermarket love, as Magnuson Superchargers just announced the release of a new supercharger kit. If you own a 2010-2015 Camaro with either the LS3 V8 or L99 V8 engines, you can get more power out of your Mustang fighting muscle car.

Magnuson Fifth-Gen Chevy Camaro Supercharger: Details

The new fifth-generation Camaro SS supercharger kit from Magnuson is centered around a 2.6L Magnum Performance Series TVS2650 supercharger, which is 40 percent larger than the 1.9L blower on the LSA V8 engine found on the fifth-gen Camaro ZL1 and second-generation Cadillac CTS-V. Built from a clean sheet design, it takes elements from the successful Radix, Heartbeat, and Magnum DI systems.

The new Magnuson supercharger kit for the fifth-gen Camaro retails for $8,895 USD.

In testing, the all-new Magnum system added over 175 horsepower and more than 141 lb-ft of torque to a stock 2011 Chevy Camaro SS at 7 pounds of boost. Those resulted in some significant improvements across the entire RPM band. If percentages are more your thing, that’s an increase of more than 42% more horsepower and 30% more torque, or about 600 total hp. That’s 20 hp more than the LSA-powered fifth-gen Camaro ZL1, which had a supercharged V8 also.

However, the supercharger kit will not clear the strut tower brace in the engine bay of the fifth-gen Camaro SS 1LE. So for that to work, the factory strut tower brace will have to be removed, sacrificing cornering abilities for extra power.

Moreover, Magnuson engineers have worked to develop an all-new high-speed airflow distribution system for the TVS2650 supercharger for the 2010-2015 Camaro SS. Leveraging Magnuson patented Dynamic Flow Technology (DFT), each supercharger housing features optimized inlet porting and a large unrestricted discharge port for maximum flow and distribution across intercoolers.

The Magnuson supercharger kit also comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for the fifth-gen Chevy Camaro when the supercharger is installed to give customers more peace of mind with their $8,895 purchase.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
