Fast X is slated to hit theaters in May. According to the trailer, the new installment will signal the beginning of the end for the franchise. The very first Fast and Furious movie released in the summer of 2001 and has since created a cult-like following of its own. To date, there are a total of nine movies, Fast X marks the tenth movie of the franchise in just over a 20-year history. That history, by the way, has almost always included a Dodge Charger of some kind and a never ending upgrade of stunts for every movie made.
This time around it would appear, leader of the pack Dominic Toretto, is bound to down two helicopters using a supercharged 1970 Charger R/T with a massive blower motor protruding from the hood as seen in the original. That Charger is said to have a whopping 900 horsepower before the assistance of Nitrous according to Volo Museum Legends in Illinois who has the actual car on display. Despite the all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee being announced late last year, there wasn’t even a hint of one in the Fast X trailer, however that’s not to say we won’t see one in the much alluded to follow-up titles.
The Fast X trailer includes both new and familiar faces. The newest faces include Jason Mamoa (Dante) who is out to destroy Dom and his well built family unit years after they killed Hernan Reyes, the bad guy from Fast Five who just so happens to be Dante’s father. Two other new faces include Alan Ritchson (Aimes) who is the leader of a secret government task force and doesn’t have the fondest of feelings for Dom and Brie Larson who serves as a “rogue” member of the same secret government task force. Mia shows up in the trailer as a familiar face along with Deckard Shaw, Paul Walker (in flashback form), Han, Letty, Tej, Roman and Cipher.
