1970 Dodge Charger “Solo” Restomod: Details

This custom 1970 Dodge Charger has had over 4,500 man-hours put into it. Nicknamed “Solo,” it is powered by a Borla 8-stack induction, with a Holley multi-port EFI feeding the 730hp R5P7 NASCAR engine. Mated to the powerhouse is a TREMEC 5-speed dog-box manual transmission that sends power out to a 4.56-geared Dana 60 posi-traction rear axle. A set of Wilwood AERO calipers gives the car plenty of stopping power, 6-piston in the front and 4-piston at the back. The entire car has been dressed in a deep VoodooViolet Candy paint job.

A fully custom tube chassis equipped with RideTech strongarms up front, a parallel 4-link in the rear, and auto-leveling Ride-Tech shockwaves at all four corners. This allows the driver to lay frame when parked while maintaining a comfortable ride out on the highway. A glance at this 1970 Dodge Charger will reveal that the body has been modified. Body modifications include a 3-inch chop and 3-inch section, custom floor and smoothed firewall, custom wheel tubs, custom engine bay trim panels, and quarter-panels massaged to flow into the decklid.

The car’s interior features a custom-fabricated dash, a user-configurable Holley digital gauge cluster, and additional AutoMeter auxiliary gauges to monitor the engine’s vitals. A custom center console holds a Bowler Nightstick shifter with a custom-machined shift lever. The door panels, rear seat delete, and trunk upholstery are also custom. The car rolls on 19-inch Lightspeed Racing wheels and 13-inch wide Toyo Proxes tires. If you’re looking to buy a one-of-a-kind pro-tourer Dodge Charger, this may be the car of your dreams.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
