The Dodge Direct Connection performance program features an assortment of new factory-backed parts, including an exclusive lineup of “Tuner” and “Stage” kits for the Dodge Challenger that can deliver nearly 900 warranty-backed horsepower on applicable trim levels. Taking things one step further is the news that Dodge will be rewarding winning drivers at the drag strip with the Direct Connection Contingency Program. The program will offer Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak racers $10,000 to win at National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Factory Stock Showdown and National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) Factory Super Cars events. This will give Drag Pak competitors multiple shots at taking home five figures during the 2022 season.
Dodge Challenger Drag Pak Racers: More Incentive To Win
The $10,000 purse is the largest available contingency award from a manufacturer in both NHRA Factory Stock Showdown and NMCA Super Cars classes. The NHRA Factory Stock Showdown schedule includes eight stops during the 2022 season, while NMCA Factory Super Cars is scheduled to have six. Meaning the money will be up for grabs for Dodge Challenger Drag Pak drivers in a total of 14 events.
Suppose that isn’t enough excitement for you. In that case, the Dodge Direct Connection Contingency Program will also be offering $1,000 for each victory and $500 for a runner-up by a Dodge Challenger Drag Pak driver in the NHRA Stock and Super Stock classes. The program will also continue the long-running support from Dodge and Mopar for the variety of NHRA racers competing in the Stock, Super Stock, Super Gas, and Super Street classes. Additionally, the Dodge Top Finisher Award will provide monetary rewards to the Stock and Super Stock class drivers of Dodge, Chrysler, or Plymouth race cars that advance the furthest in eliminations at 22 NHRA national events.
Lastly, racers that carry the Direct Connection decal on their Dodge Challengers and use specific parts that include the brand’s valve covers, intake manifolds, and Drag Pak engine assembly will also receive monetary rewards for victories or runner-up finishes in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing competition.
