Ford just announced its return to Formula 1 and its plan to partner with Red Bull racing by the 2026 season. In addition to that, the blue oval company released a Ford performance motorsports graphic teasing multiple race vehicles on the horizon, one of which appears to be a Ford F-150 Lightning. The Lighting, having spiked in price recently but also taking home a prestigious award by almost unanimous decision could be the company’s newest race truck.

The graphic exhibits silhouettes of a Ford Mustang, a Formula 1 car, a Ranger Raptor, and what we can only guess would be a Ford F-150 lighting, all placed into one of their own respective categories. The F-150 paired up with the Mustang Mach-E, Ford’s electric supervan, Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, and F-150 Eluminator truck, just couldn’t be anything else. We’ve already seen a lifted F-150 Lightning and know that the production model Lightning can get up and move. The extended range Lightning can sprint 0-60 in 4-seconds flat, making it faster than both the F-150 Raptor and Mustang GT. Its 580 max horsepower output bests even the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse which tops out at a respectable 500 horsepower even.

The teaser doesn’t reveal anything other than the fact that a race oriented F-150 Lightning is on the way. It’s unclear if it will somehow have better output than the production model or if it will be fitted with all kinds of upgrades to take on the outdoors in what should presumably be an off-road racer like the F-150 Raptor, and Raptor R. We do know that the Ford super van can crank out a 0-60 time under two-seconds with its 1,972 horsepower output, perhaps the race ready Lightning, an idea that came from outside company walls, will follow suit and take home yet another award.
