Since its launch, the 2022 Ford Maverick has been performing beyond expectations regarding gas mileage and range. Of course, these things depend on individual driving style and conditions, but the tiny trucks are spectacular for their price tag. It seems people are starting to achieve close to 600 miles per tank with the hybrid model.

User Mavforever posted an image of their recent trip statistics on the Maverick Truck Club forum, which shows that they traveled 595.2 miles with a single tank of gas. 269.9 miles were electric, and with 24 miles to spare until the vehicle is empty, there’s no doubt they could have reached over 600 miles if they needed to. It looks like they aren’t the only one managing to achieve this fantastic range, as other users stated that they’ve gotten reasonably close to 600 miles before refueling.

2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid: Details

The base Ford Maverick Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine and a liquid-cooled 1.1kW lithium-ion battery roughly the size of a briefcase located underneath the rear seats. The hybrid system produces 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels. In addition, the specs enable the truck to tow 2,000 pounds. With gas prices now, purchasing a fuel-efficient vehicle like the Maverick is becoming more enticing. The Ford Maverick Hybrid pickup truck has an EPA estimated combined fuel economy of 37 mpg and an estimated driving range of more than 500 miles.

That’s the official number. Clearly, it can be beaten.

Of course, if you want more capability out of the Ford Maverick, then range and fuel efficiency will have to be sacrificed. The 2022 Ford Maverick also comes in an AWD version featuring a 2.0L turbo that can tow up to 4,000 pounds. While its fuel economy numbers don’t match the hybrid, they’re still pretty good. But if you’re bent on getting close to 600 miles of range, and you’re okay with sacrificing AWD for it, then you’ll need to wait until summer for orders to reopen.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
