Ford has recently released a memo to Ford dealerships outlining details regarding the 2022 Ford Maverick pickup truck. They have already stopped future orders for the truck of the year so that they can catch up a bit before the 2023 order banks open this summer. But now, it seems that due to supply constraints prolonging their ability to schedule many retail orders for production, there will be some 2022 Maverick builds will be differed to the 2023 model year.

Ford Maverick Production Constraint: Details

In the memo to Ford dealers, the company outlined its decision to prioritize the remaining production towards unscheduled Maverick retail orders based on the date the customer’s Ford dealership submitted them, vehicle model and configuration selected, part availability, and the number of vehicles the customer’s Ford dealership receives. According to the Maverick Truck Club, Ford also provided a list of options and features that are causing constraints which includes:

  • Co-Pilot360 package
  • XLT Luxury package
  • Lariat Luxury package
  • Spray-In Bedliner
  • Cargo Management System
  • Bed Extender
  • Bed Tray
  • Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover

Customers who have any of the options listed above should expect a call from their chosen dealership to review the options that are available to them. The customer can opt to make amendments to their order with their dealership. Ford doesn’t recommend changing the trim of the Ford Maverick as that could change the receipt date of the order. Additionally, customers can continue to wait for their retail order to be scheduled. If the order is unable to be scheduled in the 2022 model year, the customer will need to convert their retail order to a 2023 model year with their Ford dealer when the order bank re-opens this summer.

Ford has provided dealerships with recommendations on what customers can do to adjust their orders which could help them get ahold of their Ford Mavericks faster. The changes include removing the options that are causing constraints which might not be ideal for some people.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
