The high-performance variants of the Ford Mustang have long been some of the most exciting sports cars on the market. And while the Shelby nameplate tends to be stuck onto the best of the bunch, there have been some seriously potent Mustangs without the Cobra badge. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for example was designed to be the ultimate 5.0L V8-powered Mustang. Thanks to some bits borrowed from the GT350, this retro-inspired pony car cranks out 480 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque from its Coyote engine. It even looks the part as well, harking back to the classic model from which it borrows its name. That said, the car is missing one iconic element found on the original: a shaker hood. Well thanks to Classic Design Concepts, you can now have a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a genuine shaker hood.
Mustang Mach 1 Shaker Hood By CDC
Ford has stated previously that the current Mach 1 doesn’t have a shaker hood because it simply wasn’t an engineering necessity like it was in the past. The GT350-sourced intake is an open unit, and it is tucked far off to the side of the motor. Instead of spending the time to develop a shaker kit for this modern layout, Ford went ahead and kept honing the track car’s performance. A fair play sure, but one that Classic Design Concepts wants to rectify for customers. Since the 1960s, Michigan-based Classic Design Concepts has been cranking out OE-quality parts designed to enhance the look of your car. They’re no stranger to the Ford Mustang family, nor the history behind the Mach 1 nameplate. That is why they’re now offering this Mustang Mach 1 shaker hood kit, which funnels additional air into the stock intake for more power.

Mach 1 Shaker Hood Features And Pricing
The kit itself is $1,195, and is constructed entirely out of high-quality aluminum. The shaker scoop is mounted directly to the engine for the classic movement effect, but Classic Design Concepts managed to retain OEM strut tower braces. It’s not an entirely complicated affair, but the piece will change the style of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I mean, it really does look like this hood design belonged on this pony car from the get-go. If you’re interested in getting one of these kits for your own Mustang, you can do so at the link provided here. It is worth noting however that this is not interchangeable with the standard 5.0L-powered cars, due to the unique intake layout found on Mach 1.
