JEEP GRAND WAGONEER CONCEPT TEASED FROM THE TOP DOWN

Also, Apparently The SUV Debuting Is A Concept

Jeep Wagoneer

Over the past month, FCA has been hyping up the reveal for the already anticipated Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a barrage of teasers. Jeep fans everywhere are excited for the nameplate to make a return, and take on the full-size SUV segment leaders from GM. But yesterday, we were a little let down to learn that the September 3 reveal will only show us a Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept, according to the Facebook event. Here, Jeep will also reveal the production Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid. Guess we’ll have to wait a little longer for the real thing.

That makes this round of teasers slightly disappointing, knowing we aren’t looking at the final vehicle. Still, the most recent top down image gives us our best look at the SUV in its entirety thus far. The image doesn’t look show an outlandish concept car, so we expect to see a fairly production ready concept.

That’s bolstered by the fact the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will enter production in Q2 of 2021. Our guess is the production model will debut sometime around New Years, and looks very similar to the concept.

Along with the top down picture, there’s also yet another interior detail teaser of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept. This time, we see the left-most driver’s side air vent and a glimpse of the gauge cluster. Based on all of the interior shots so far, it looks like the Grand Wagoneer Concept will have a more sophisticated design and more premium materials than any other Jeep. This will likely hold true on the production version.

And even though it’ll just be a concept revealed on September 3, we already have many of the Grand Wagoneer Concept’s details. The SUV will ride on a modified Ram 1500 platform, and probably be powered by either the 3.6L Pentastar V6 or 5.7L Hemi V8. These engines could be offered with the mild hybrid eTorque system. Expect the Jeep to go after the full size SUV lineup from GM and Ford, and tout its trademark off-road capability as a selling point.
