MICHAEL JORDAN TAKES DELIVERY OF ‘300 MPH’ AMERICAN HYPERCAR

Just 30 Examples Of The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster Will Be Made

Michael Jordan Gets Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster

There’s a plethora of supercars on the market today, though, with price tags in the six to seven-figure range, it’s hard for most people to get their hands on a dream car. That said, if you can afford one, there’s no shortage of options. For NBA legend and businessman Michael Jordan, he added a rare Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster to his collection of vehicles. With just 30 examples of the convertible available, he now owns a rare gem.

Hennessey Performance recently posted a photo of company CEO John Hennessey standing with Michael Jordan on social media, in front of his new Venom F5 Roadster. Unfortunately, the photo doesn’t show off much of the supercar, which debuted a little over a year ago, but it does show the car’s beautiful exposed gloss carbon-fiber body and its yellow pinstripes to compliment the vehicle’s shape.

Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster: Details

Underneath the F5 Roadster’s body is a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 engine. The engine itself produces 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated with a seven-speed, single-clutch semi-automatic transmission. Hennessey claims the supercar can exceed 300 miles per hour, though there hasn’t been official record of such a feat. Either way, imagine hitting that speed with the top down. Your dentist would get a good look at your teeth.

Michael Jordan, an NBA basketball legend known to have an ongoing competitive personality, is one of only 30 people to own an F5 Roadster, as Hennessey limits its production. The company said it’d make just 24 examples of the coupe, so the convertible isn’t as rare. The production number also coincides with a hefty price tag, as the Venom F5 Roadster will cost $3 million to start compared to the $2.1 million for the coupe. Though, the convertible does have a higher curb weight than the coupe due to the roof. The regular F5 weighs in at 2,998 pounds, while the F5 Roadster weighs under 3,100 pounds.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
