PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN AND JAY LENO TAKE A DRIVE IN C2 CORVETTE, FORD F-150 LIGHTNING

The Duo Teamed Up For An Upcoming Appearance Of Jay Leno’s Garage

Jay Leno is a car aficionado, and can at times be considered a man of the people. He even made a stop at the 2022 Woodward Dream Cruise recently, seemingly for nothing more than to just hang out. However, Jay still has friends in very high places, one of whom appears to be President Joe Biden. Leno and Biden – a combined age of 151 years old – were both recently seen sharing a drive in the President’s ultra classic 1967 Corvette Stingray while shooting an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. Along with that, the two also deliberated electric vehicles, and rode in the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Per a Twitter post from Director of Message Planning for the White House, Megan Hays, President Biden and Jay Leno took Biden’s 1967 Corvette for a spin for an upcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage that begins airing Wednesday September 7th on CNBC. The two have a history together, Jay helped fund-raise for Biden’s presidential campaign in 2020. Biden also appeared on The Tonight Show when Jay was hosting it between 1992 and 2009, then again from 2010 to 2014. The pair shot their scenes at the James J. Rowley Training Center, in Maryland, a Secret Service facility.

That’s not all. Leno, 72, and Biden, 79, both revisited the Ford F-150 Lightning, an electric truck that the President describes as “a fast SOB.” Being as the F-150 Lightning is capable of a 4.4 second 0-60 times, he’s right.

Biden isn’t shy when it comes to showing support to American auto manufacturers. Along with driving a prototype of the electric Ford F-150 Lightning, he also made a visit GM’s Factory Zero grand opening where he gave high praise to the GMC Hummer EV before and after driving it.

We’ll have to stay tuned for an upcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage to see if things were more scripted than usual.
