The C8 Corvette 6.2L LT2 V8 engine produces 495 horsepower, but what happens when a supercharger is added to the equation? Procharger, the first company to make superchargers for the C4, C5, C6, and C7 Corvette models, began building a centrifugal supercharger system for the mid-engine Corvette shortly after they were able to receive one from the factory. After over a year of development and testing, despite the car’s encrypted ECU, they believe the system is ready for customers, boosting the engine’s power to 675 horsepower at 6.5 psi on 93-octane fuel.

Procharger released more figures for the performance increase of the C8 Corvette with a centrifugal supercharger that they are calling their HO kit, which reduces the 0-60 time by .3 seconds, and increases the quarter-mile speed by 8 MPH. Road course lap times were also quicker, although they didn’t share what that was.

The entire system bolts onto the engine, which means it doesn’t have to be a permanent modification. The only thing that could be a drawback for the installation would be having to cut into the trunk area. On the upside, the modification doesn’t hinder access to the rear trunk, and it’s still fully functional.

Procharger C8 Corvette Supercharger Options And Pricing

The Procharger HO kit has three aesthetic options, including polished, black, or carbon fiber. In addition, the company utilized two of their own C8 Corvettes plus Corvettes from customers participating in their R&D program to test the kit over the course of the year. Thus, putting the supercharged equipped cars through their paces in different climates and weathers, accumulating thousands of miles to ensure the system is reliable.

Pricing for the Projcharger C8 Corvette Tuner Kit, which doesn’t include tuning or fuel components, comes in at $11,999, while the Tuner Kit Plus with fuel components and timing controls costs $12,899. A Stage II intercooled Tuner Kit is also available with a port injection manifold that costs $12,499. But, again, you’re on your own for figuring out how to operate this extra power without being able to make adjustments to spark, timing, airflow or fuel injection.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
