This week, Stellantis detailed 2023 Ram 1500, highlighted by the introduction of the highly luxurious Limited Elite package. But that’s not the only news, as Ram has announced the return of the Ram (RED) Edition for 2023, which is part of Ram, Jeep, and FIAT brands commitment to help fight health emergencies.
2023 Ram 1500 (RED) Edition: Details
The 2023 Ram (RED) Edition is available on Limited Crew Cab configurations and features a red R-A-M grille and door badging. A (RED) badge is also located on the center console lid. Between 2021-2023 Ram, Jeep, and FIAT brands have committed a minimum of $4 million to the Global Fund with (RED). In addition, the Ram 1500 (RED) Edition features a UV-C glove box light that’s engaged through a button on the center console. Once engaged, the UV light will start a three-minute hygiene cycle that kills bacteria.
The 2023 Ram 1500 features up to 12,750 pounds of towing capability and 2,300 pounds of payload. In addition, the eTorque 48-volt mild hybrid system delivers improved fuel efficiency in both V6 and V8 configurations. By way of technology, the Uconnect 5 system is offered with a 12-inch touchscreen that includes split-screen capability, 360-degree camera views, and content from SiriusXM with 360L and Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora.
The 2023 Ram 1500 lineup will include the Know & Go mobile app, which offers an immersive experience for customers who want to learn more about their vehicles. In addition, Ram has improved the ride and handling of the Ram 1500 via a segment-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system with optional active-level four-corner air suspension, which enhances fuel efficiency and gives greater off-road capability. If needed, the suspension offers load-leveling and entry/exit convenience so vertically challenged people can still conveniently access the truck.
The 2023 Ram 1500 lineup will go on sale in October, 2022.
