The Skip Barber Racing School is a name that is known throughout all divisions of motorsports. Over the past four decades, their programs have helped to teach some 300,000 people how to get out on the racetrack. Now though, those who are looking to dip their toes in for the first time can attend Skip Barber’s Intro to Racing program and get behind the wheel of a Roush Performance Stage 3 Mustang.
The Intro to Racing program is based off the single-day Skip Barber Racing School package, and lasts a total of four hours. During that time, students will begin with a detailed vehicle dynamic lesson, which aims to teach even the newest of drivers the basics of racetrack motoring. From there, drivers will be put behind the wheel of the Roush Stage 3 Mustang for a session of lead-follow laps.
As if going on track isn’t already an intense experience for a beginner, the Roush Performance Stage 3 Mustangs available are only going to heighten the experience. With 750 horsepower and 670 lb-ft of torque on tap from its supercharged V8 engine, the Stage 3 can go from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Drivers can choose between either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic equipped car, to perfectly tailor their dream driving school experience. Other modifications to the Roush Performance Mustang Stage 3 include the R9 Aero Body Kit, and a ROUSH-Calibrated MagneRide Suspension for improved response on the racetrack.
The Skip Barber Racing School holds classes at a number of tracks across the country, including at some of the all-time greats like Leguna Seca, COTA, and Road Atlanta.
