While we have seen and have a pretty good idea of what the upcoming seventh-generation, S650 Ford Mustang has to offer starting the 2024 model year, Ford itself has been quiet. Until now, that is. A fresh video posted on the official Ford Mustang Facebook page gives a teaser of the beautiful exhaust note that comes from what will be the last true Muscle Car.

S650 Ford Mustang: Details

Beyond the exhaust note, we’re not given any other information on the S650 Ford Mustang. However, we do know a bit about the upcoming pony car. Its reveal is now expected 2023, just in time for what would be the nameplate’s 60th birthday, which is the 2024 model year. We also know that the 5.0L Coyote V8 will live on, but a manual transmission may not be in the cards do to regulatory issues. Still, its presence could be dependent on customer demand. A hybrid version of the S650 Mustang is expected, but it won’t be available right at the beginning of the car’s lifecycle.

When electrification does come into play for the S650 Mustang, it won’t spell the end of the V8, but it will mark the beginning of the end, as the eighth-generation Mustang is expected to be entirely electric. But channeling that drama that can only be found with a combustion engine will be the real trick. That’s something we haven’t truly seen yet.

The exact date for the S650 Ford Mustang debut hasn’t been revealed yet, but it could appear at the 2023 New York Auto Show, which takes place April 7-16 of next year. That’s an important event as the original Mustang was revealed at the 1964 New York World’s Fair; it would also mark the 60th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang. We all know how the brand likes to tie in major milestones to its vehicles, especially icons like the Mustang and Bronco.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
