With the C8 Corvette almost here, the renown Ron Fellows Performance Driving School is continuing its Corvette HPDE program. Given the C8 is so radically different with its mid-engined configuration, learning its limits is a great idea. Furthermore, Chevrolet is offering discounts on the 2-day program for new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray owners. The whole package comes in at $1,000.
Located at Spring Mountain Motor Resort outside of Las Vegas, the school aims to teach owners the full performance of their cars. Drivers of all experience levels are welcome to participate. The school provides instruction in both the classroom and on the track. Owners won’t be using their own car, but a new 2020 Corvette Stingray provided by Chevrolet. Corvette owners who have taken part in the driving school before have access to a higher level program. Above that, people with an SCCA license can do advanced level courses.

Outside of the driving school, the cost also covers an overnight stay at the resort hotel and condominiums with access to their clubhouse. There is also an included breakfast and lunch, with no mention of dinner. Overall, this seems to be a great opportunity for new Corvette owners, if you can swallow the travel and tuition costs. Think of it as a quick weekend getaway, plus Corvette.
Overall, this is great driving academy for people who want to get the most out of their C8. The program has a storied history with the Corvette, so the excitement of the C8 Corvette looks to make this a rewarding experience. There doesn’t appear to be a registration deadline, but we would bet the first come first serve basis applies here. With the program taking place in April, it would be best to apply soon.
