1970 FORD MUSTANG LOOKS LIKE THE QUADRA TYPE 66 FROM CYBERPUNK 2077

By now, most people are aware of a rather popular video game called Cyberpunk 2077. It was in development for almost a decade, and the result is one of the most hyped games of all time. One of the coolest parts of Cyberpunk 2077 are the retro-futuristic cars. They are all designed specifically for the game, and have a truly unique style that centers on retro-futurism and DIY improvements. Given all the hype for the game, the game developers and Rockstar Energy (a sponsor of the game) took it upon themselves to make a Cyberpunk vehicle in real life, out of a 1970 Ford Mustang.

The vehicle is supposed to look like the Quadra Type 66, and they’ve certainly achieved that goal. But before we get into the design of this Ford Mustang build, the mechanics are even more impressive. The Quadra inspired Mustang only had 37,000 miles on the clock when the Rockstar Energy Garage took it in, but they still rebuilt and improved almost every aspect of it.

Under the hood is the original 4.9 liter V8, but it’s been upgraded with a modern ECU, FAST fuel injectors, K&N intake, Mishimoto radiator and a Magnaflow exhaust. Ridetech Coilover suspension, a new nine inch rear end, R1 Concepts disk brakes and Micky Thompson tires.

Now, on to the looks of this restomod, Cyberpunk 2077 Quadra Ford Mustang. The car was repainted before the yellow and black Cyberpunk and Rockstar Energy wrap was put on. The front grille, curtesy of T-Rex Grilles is the most polarizing element, and it hides modern LED headlights behind the wide chrome grin. Also on the grille is the Quadra logo, really making this a Cyberpunk Mustang. One of the common themes of Cyberpunk vehicles is asymmetry in their design, and this is carried to the Mustang with different Rotiform black wheels front and rear.

The interior of this Ford Mustang has also been given a Quadra inspired Cyberpunk 2077 makeover, designed to look like the interior of the game vehicle. There are new bucket seats, carbon fiber trim, ambient lighting, new gauges and a Kicker audio system.

The restomod Mustang was the grand prize in Rockstar Energy’s Cyberpunk 2077 giveaway promotion, and although entry is now closed, a lucky winner will be announced in the next few weeks. Whoever wins this Cyberpunk Quadra tribute will have one of the most unique Ford Mustang builds on the planet.
