While the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 may not be an all new model, the truck is getting a mild facelift to carry it to the next generation. This facelift has given aftermarket tuning companies an opportunity to show off their parts on the updated truck. And one of the most impressive we’ve seen yet is Peak Suspension’s 2021 Colorado ZR2 build, which was made in partnership with the experts over at American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). We don’t have information on the full lineup of modifications, but Peak’s recent Facebook post gave us the most important parts and pictures of this awesome truck.

From Peak Suspension, the Colorado ZR2 has their complete ZR2 Summit Kit with Deaver Leaf packs. This coilover conversion kit is designed to work in harmony with the ZR2’s trick Multimatic DSSV shocks and provide adjustable ride hight. Front ride height can be adjusted from stock to 2.25 additional inches. In the rear, this kit includes additional leaf springs that can raise rear ride height between 1 and 1.5 inches. Buyers can also fully customize their spring rate, and add a differential drop if wanted.

But this ZR2 build is about so much more than the suspension. It features AEV’s new HighMark Flares, which are designed for the facelift model. Because of the additional ride height from the Peak Suspension Summit kit and fender clearance, the truck can accommodate the Crestone DualSport Wheels and massive 35 inch tires you see in the pictures. The wheels are color matched to the Sand Dune Metallic paint, a new color for 2021. Who knew beige could look so mean.

Also from AEV are skid plates and intake snorkel, making this a very capable off-roader. The truck was purpose built as an Offroad Recovery Trail Rig, and it certainly looks like Peak have achieved that goal. Peak says they’ll reveal the rest of their 2021 Colorado ZR2 build details in a walkaround video soon, so keep an eye out for that. We can’t wait to hear about all of the accessories in the truck bed. Plus, the photos published in the Facebook post (which you can see here) might just show a Lingenfelter supercharger. This truck could have some serious performance under the hood, and coupled with the upgraded off-road parts, it’s perhaps the best demonstration of everything the Colorado can do.

  1. Wow! That’s impressive suspension right there. I think the Nitto ridge grappler tires work well with Chevy colorado trucks. I also like the storage they put on the truck of the bed. I think it’s a functional storage solution that’s great to use when you have a bunch of stuff to put on the vehicle. I wonder if it’s an aftermarket pickup bed cover or we can buy it directly from the dealer.

  2. All pretty standard stuff for the ZR2 crowd. Peak Suspension has become the premier ZR2 aftermarket parts supplier. AEV is another company that has excelled in providing ZR2 parts, the hot stamped boron steel skids are as light as aluminum and harder than wood pecker lips. AEV’s 33″ tire kit allows larger tires while keeping CG low.
