It seems like yesterday that we saw the radical new mid-engined C8 Chevrolet Corvette for the first time, but we actually are gearing up for the third production year. For the 2022 model year, the base C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is getting a few updates to keep it fresh alongside the track-focused Z06, which is the biggest Corvette launch since the original C8 debut. We already learned about three new colors coming to the 2022 model year, but the recent National Corvette Museum Corvette Bash showed us another new option customers can order. That’s a low-profile rear spoiler that will sit alongside the high rear wing and Z51 Performance Pack wing.
The spoiler, as the name suggests, is a nice subtle uptick on the rear of the vehicle, like a decklid spoiler. It’s simpler than the other C8 Chevrolet Corvette wings on offer in 2022, which should be appealing to many customers. The rear of the Corvette with its mid-engined layout can look a little flat and squared off without a spoiler of some kind, so this little flick helps that without looking obnoxious.

What’s more, you can also spec your new 2022 C8 Chevrolet Corvette’s low spoiler with or without of the Z51 Performance Pack. This provides a more subtle alternative to the regular Z51 spoiler, which is a taller design with two large openings on either side. The low-profile spoiler, which is RPO code TVS, also includes the front splitter, probably necessary for maintaining the correct aero balance.
There’s no pricing available yet, and no mention of other color options. The Z51 wing, and high wing spoiler both come in Carbon Black or body color, so there’s a chance you can order this low spoiler in a contrasting color if you desire.
With all the attention on the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the easiest way to spot a base 2022 C8 Corvette Stingray or Convertible over a 2020 or 2021 model will be seeing one in Hypersonic Gray, Caffeine or Amplify Orange, or spotting this subtle new spoiler option.
