On April 22, 1970, the United States had the single largest protest in history. That was the first Earth Day, and every one since has celebrated the beauty of our planet and the importance of embracing it. With global warming posing the single greatest issue to our planet’s future, the world is adapting, including all of the major automakers. Their push towards electrification is bringing the most rapidly changing auto industry time period since Henry Ford introduced the Model T. Stellantis decided to celebrate this past Earth Day with the Jeep brand, which is in the midst of a major electrification push that’s started with the Wrangler 4xe.
The clip features a returning cast of animal characters we first saw a few months ago with the original Earth Odyssey commercial, this time experiencing something we’ve all been familiar with during the pandemic: the Zoom meeting. Whether you’re on Zoom for work, school or with family, we’ve all experienced troubles with connecting, having people on mute or having trouble screen sharing. Let us know if you think it’s on the cringy side.
The collection of primates, owls, snakes, elephants, alligators, hippos, peacocks, iguanas, lions and wolves struggle with trying to show a clip of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which is from the original Earth Odyssey ad. All of their exclamations of frustration, excitement and surprise are rather funny to hear with the subtitles down below. Let us know your favorite of the animal characters in the comments down below, as it seems like we’ll be seeing them more as Jeep continues its electrification push.
And that electrification push is exactly why Jeep is leaning into Earth Day with the Wrangler 4xe. The company has made it clear that they’d like to become the greenest SUV brand on the market, which is something their parent company appears keen on accomplishing. Beyond the Wrangler 4xe, Jeep has plans in the works to roll out a Gladiator 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe in the near future. Furthermore, the company has created a new 4xe Charging Network, which aims to let customers “drive on sunshine”. With an electric Jeep Wrangler Magneto on the horizon, get ready for Jeep and charging to become synonymous.
