Though the first quarter of this year has seen a reduction in C8 Corvette sales, it’s still seeing high demand, and with the recent NCM Bash taking place, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles was kind enough to reveal some production numbers for the 2023 model year. It looks like most C8 Corvette Z06 vehicles have been convertibles up to this point.

C8 Corvette Z06 2023 Production Numbers: The Details

According to Corvette Blogger, just 6% of Corvettes produced in 2023 have been Z06s, with 94% being Stingrays. Of those, the Convertible model is out-selling the coupe by 51% to 49%. While it’s normal to see a high convertible take rate for the Corvette, this percentage is likely due to the lack of carbon fiber to build Z07 packages for the Z06, which could have affected the take rate ratio with the convertible over the coupe. The 3LZ trim package dominates Coupes (73%) and Convertibles (86%).

As for colors, it looks like the top one for the Z06 is Black, with Torch Red coming in as the car’s second-most-popular color. Arctic White, Red Mist, Pearl White (70th Anniversary), and Hypersonic Gray are all tied for third. As for options on the Corvette Z06, 20% of vehicles feature the Z07, which is a low number, once again attributed to the lack of carbon fiber available at the moment. Meanwhile, the base chassis makes up 47%, and the base chassis with J57 Carbon Ceramic Brakes at 34%. The Front lift option is very high, with 75% of buyers adding it to their supercar, and the Aero packages are 17% visible carbon fiber and 7% carbon flash.

The most popular wheels for the Z06 are the Black spider aluminum wheels (SOA) at 36%, and 16% of customers have selected the Visible Carbon Fiber Wheels. Production for the 2023 Corvette Stingray and Z06s will continue through September 1st, 2023, with 2024 expected to begin production on Tuesday, September 5th.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
