The 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 visualizer has been a fun tool to mess around with, enabling users to see the options available and view the specced Z06 from almost every angle. However, when using the visualizer, there are bound to be some questions one may have, something that could be fixed with an order guide. Since we don’t have one, Corvette Blogger asked Team Corvette members for some clarification at the annual NCM Bash that happened at the end of April.
C8 Corvette Z06: High Wing Spoiler And CCB
The High Wing on the base Z06 without the Z07 package has a message box popup in the visualizer that shows the spoiler requires the addition of Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Metallic Gray Brake Callipers and the visible carbon fiber ground effects. This may be frustrating for some people, not for having upgraded brakes, but not having a choice on the brake caliper color. But fret not; even though the visualizer shows “CCBs with Metallic Gray Brake Calipers,” the Gray caliper is the default color. If you add the Carbon Ceramic Brakes to your order, you can choose between Bright Red, Edge Red, Edge Yellow, and Edge Orange. Meanwhile, Cast Iron Brakes come standard as black but can be swapped for Bright Red, Edge Red, and Edge Yellow.
This likely isn’t a problem for customers, as they get a packaged deal. However, since the visualizer doesn’t give any insight into how much things will cost just yet. It makes things more difficult for serious Z06 buyers as they may be dreaming bigger than their bank accounts can handle.
If you’re planning on ordering the Z07 Performance Package with your 2023 C8 Corvette Z06, things are made easier as the Carbon Ceramic Brakes are included. You can add the ground effects package, which consists of the base spoiler, to a non-Z07 without the Carbon Ceramic Brakes, but if you want the High Wing, the better brakes are a must.
