We learn more about the C8 Corvette Z06 what feels like each and every day, leaving enthusiasts quite eager to own one of their own, no matter the cost. We’ve already seen the first retail model go for a million dollars in auction. Recently, we’ve come to learn that the Corvette Z06 is the heaviest Z06 yet.

Per Corvette Blogger who was gifted an internal weight chart referencing the C8 Z06’s weight ratings, we now know the lightest version of the 2023 Corvette Z06 has a curb weight of 3,721 pounds, and a gross vehicle weight of 4,021 pounds. For gross vehicle weight, a 300 pound add-on is required by the EPA to take into account a driver, passenger and cargo. As for the convertible, the maxed out weight sits at 4,146 pounds or 3,846 pounds dry.
For comparison to the 2023 Corvette Z06, a C7 Corvette Z06 (2015-2019) started with a curb weight of 3,523 pounds. A sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupe with a manual transmission tips the scales at 3,883 pounds. On the more exotic end, the Lamborghini Huracan comes in at 3,419 lbs, a McLaren GT is 3,384 lbs. A Porsche 911 GT3 is 3,164 lbs. In other words, adding lightness can be very expensive.
A chart below breaks down the configurations between coupe and convertible. The chart also refers to some package options such as “J57” which are carbon ceramic brakes, the Z07 Package, and “T0G/T0J” both of which are aero kits.
This comes as a surprise given the fact the 2023 Corvette Z06 boasts an array of Carbon fiber options including wheels, which are supposed to save 41 pounds of vehicle weight over traditional aluminum, however this is a factor not mentioned in the chart. So what makes it so heavy? It isn’t the engine, as the high powered LT6 (which you can build yourself) is actually two pounds lighter than the LT2 engine found in the Stingray, and a full 30 pounds lighter than the supercharged LT4 found in its predecessor, while still making 20 more horsepower.
