When you need a bit more towing capability and the Ram 1500 just won’t cut it, the Ram HD trucks are your next best option, and there are some significant updates for the 2023 model year. The 2023 Ram HD offers a towing capacity of up to a Herculean 37,090 pounds and a payload capacity of 7,680 pounds. Ram was the first to achieve the 1,000 lb-ft of torque milestone with the Cummins I-6 turbodiesel, but they’ve now managed to boost that rating to 1,074 lb-ft of torque. Comfortable ride and handling are accomplished via a class-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system for the Ram 2500, with an optional rear air suspension for both the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 HD trucks

New features for the 2023 Ram HD trucks include an available 12-inch frameless digital gauge cluster which features nearly two dozen different menus. The full-color cluster features five reconfigurable tiles for at-a-glance data or quick and easy access to the most used information. The driver will be able to choose between an analog or digital instrumentation. Additionally, there is a new digital rearview mirror with side camera integration as an available option for 2023. The digital rearview mirror displays video in real-time from a rear-facing camera and can be turned off to revert to the traditional reflective mirror.

2023 Ram Heavy Duty models will now have Trailer Reverse Steering Control available to allow the driver to enter a few measurements before the camera tracks the trailer position to back up and guide the trailer. Then, customers simply need to rotate the dial left or right in the direction they want the trailer to go while the system controls the steering wheel.

Other new features for 2023 include:

  • New Mopar sport performance hood available on Laramie and Limited
  • Next-generation trailer tow mirrors with telescoping capability are now available across the lineup
  • 2023 Ram Heavy Duty models benefit from camera system enhancements, including the new Trailer Tow pages app, multiple view modes, behind-trailer view, and blind spot view

The 2023 Ram Heavy Duty line will be available in six trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Power Wagon, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited. No Ram HD Rebel just yet.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
