Ford is currently testing 2024 F-150 vehicles for the mid-generation refresh. We recently covered a story with two trucks spotted altitude testing in Colorado, which showed heavily camouflaged back ends and redesigned taillights that will likely better reflect what’s seen on the F-150 Lightning. But more images of the prototype vehicles have emerged, giving us further insight into what to expect for the refreshed exterior of the trucks.

2024 Ford F-150 Refresh Prototype: Details

Images recently sent to TFL showcase an updated grille and headlights, which are in full view. A defined amber front marker/blinker light is reminiscent of the current F-150 Tremor front end. But things continue further as even less camouflaged photos have emerged of the Raptor R, which we can assume was done due to the general public not paying close attention to the evident changes to the design on a pickup that had only just been released.

According to Motor1, this has received a facelift, though the headlights differ slightly from what’s seen in the video below. The headlights at the corners are essentially the same but feature new internal elements. Most exterior changes occur at the front of the truck, with a new grille with a bolder mesh design behind the Ford lettering, which also appears to be a bit larger. Additionally, the front bumper seems slightly slimmer at the ends, and vertical slats replace the mesh motif in the center.

At the back, not much has changed for the Raptor R except for the taillights, where the shape is the same, but the structure and elements are fresh for 2024. The taillights likely will be found on all the other F-150 trims as well, but it’s hard to be sure since Ford does change things up slightly for special models to help them stand out from the others in the bunch. Outside of changes to the exterior, the 2024 F-150 trucks will likely receive some of the technologies and features from the new Super Duty, but the powertrains will likely remain the same. However, look for a new multifunction tailgate to debut with this 14th-generation F-150 update.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
