Despite the fact that Ford’s F-150 Raptor has dominated the segment for over a decade at this point, the Ram 1500 TRX is currently the king of the off-road truck segment. Thanks to its 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8 engine making 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, the TRX is the fastest, quickest, and most powerful pickup on sale today. Combined with a suite of off-road focused hardware and tech, the Ram is a do everything machine. That glorious V8 engine dominates the show however, as it brings an attitude to the truck that the Raptor’s EcoBoost V6 could never hope to match. And while we’re sure no one has ever accused the TRX of being a quiet machine, the folks at AWE have decided to turn things up a notch. Here’s what you need to know about the new AWE Exhaust Kit for the Ram 1500 TRX.

Ram 1500 TRX Exhaust By AWE

For three decades, the team at AWE have been cracking out some of the nicest performance exhaust systems on the market. This new dual 3-inch catback system for the Ram 1500 TRX is no different, and is made from American-sourced T304L stainless steel. AWE says their new Ram 1500 TRX exhaust adds gains of 6 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque to the wheels, which they’ve verified on the dyno. Based on what we know from previous TRX dyno runs, this likely means 590 horsepower and 585 lb-ft at the wheels. Yes, those numbers are as ridiculous as they sound.

Speaking of sound, the tone that comes from this new kit is quite a bit different from the stock pipes. Gone is the sharp and bitey tone we’re used to hearing from various Hellcat machines, now replaced by a much deeper and more guttural note. Overall, the new kit fits the character of the truck quite well. Part of the reason for the tone shift comes down to the company’s new resonated H-pipe, as well as the massive five-inch dual tips out back. Customers can choose between either a chrome or black finish on the tips, which is always appreciated. The AWE exhaust kit for the Ram 1500 TRX is also entirely bolt-on, and requires no cutting or modification.

Headache-Free In More Ways Than One

No need to worry about drone either, as this AWE exhaust kit for the Ram 1500 TRX comes backed by the shop’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology. This works by directing gases through their unique resonator, before channeling the exhaust into strategically located ports and reflection chambers. These tricks help reduce drone and keep things livable on the highway. This is something other aftermarket kits can’t offer buyers. Customers will also be glad to know that the kit is backed by a lifetime warranty, and comes with a no check engine light guarantee.

The AWE exhaust kit for the Ram 1500 TRX carries an MSRP of $1,945 with the silver tips, and $1,995 with the blacked out units. That’s not a ton of cash when you consider the performance gains and tone change on offer. You can check out this new kit for yourself at the link provided here.
