The Dodge Durango Hellcat has no true reason to exists, but that’s exactly why we love it so much. Nobody needs 710 horsepower to take the kids to school in their three row SUV, but who doesn’t want that? Despite weighing as much as some small towns, the Hellcat engine under the hood turns the Durango into a seriously fast vehicle, with 0-60 mph dealt with in just 3.5 seconds. We’d struggle to think of anyone that needs more performance, but if they’re out there, Livernois Motorsports has the package for you. Their ECU tune alone bumps output by just over 60 horsepower, making a fast car even just plain stupid.
The upgrades are just a simple ECU tune, too, so no bolt on parts are needed to get this rather significant power bump. Livernois dyno tested their Dodge Durango Hellcat when it was stock, and it put down 644 horsepower to the wheels. After their tune, max output jumped to 706 horsepower, a 62 horsepower gain. Torque followed a similar path, at 599 lbs-ft stock and 627 lbs-ft tuned, an almost 30 lbs-ft increase. At that rank, that’s close to 770 horsepower. See the results for yourself with the dyno video below.
The Livernois 2021 Dodge Durango Hellcat tune also runs on regular 93 octane fuel, so it’s not like you have to change anything else for the tune. Better yet, they’ve already been offering a similar tune on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, so there shouldn’t be any reliability concerns.
If you, for some reason, find a need to make your Dodge Durango Hellcat even faster, the Livernois Motorsports tune is available now on their website. You’ll have to buy the PCM unlock kit to install the tune too, and all together you’re looking at a $699 purchase, which isn’t too bad considering the full cost of the vehicle. With their package, you get the Livernois device to install the tune, which also allows you to modify shift points, view gauges and allows you to install other tunes down the line. Again, nobody needs 770 horsepower in their already rapid Durango Hellcat, but doesn’t it just sound cool?
