CADILLAC BLACKWING DEBUT INFO COMING JANUARY 7

That’s Tomorrow!

2022 Cadillac V-Series Blackwing CT4-V CT5-V

Earlier this week, order guides for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing models made their way online. General Motors was quick to discover the leak, and have subsequently restricted the documents from prying eyes. This wasn’t done in time to stop us from confirming some long-standing rumors about the sports sedans however, including which engines will power each car. While these order guides didn’t contain all the details we’d like to know, it doesn’t appear we are going to have to wait much longer for the full build sheet. A new report from Motor1 suggests we will be getting an update from Cadillac on January 7.

According to Motor1, an official announcement related to the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing will be taking place tomorrow, according to Cadillac officials.

Cadillac has been heavily teasing both cars as of late, detailing options like carbon bucket seats, magnesium wheels, and the oh-so-important six-speed manual gearbox. Combine this with the leaked order guides, lightly camouflaged prototypes, and the upcoming announcement, and a February 1 debut doesn’t appear out of the question.

While we don’t know a ton about the upcoming Cadillac Blackwing sedans at this time, not everything remains a mystery. We know now that the CT5-V Blackwing will be the most powerful car the brand has ever built, and should also be the fastest around a circuit. Power will be provided by the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine, which will help the sedan do 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The top-speed is slated to be 200 mph. The CT4-V Blackwing on the other hand will be powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.6L LF4 V6 as the ATS-V. Power output remains secret at this time, but we do know the car will do 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, and will top out at 189 mph.

Be sure to check back at MC&T tomorrow for updates related to the announcement. Which Cadillac Blackwing model are you more excited for? Let us know down below.
