CADILLAC JUST ANNOUNCED ESCALADE IQ REVEAL DETAILS

Mark Your Calendar For August 9

The newest addition to Cadillac’s EV lineup is the Escalade IQ, which has the potential to be a popular item amongst consumers due to the popularity the SUV already has. That said, while there’s not much known about the upcoming electric SUV, Cadillac just released a preview video of the all-new Escalade IQ announcing the date for its official reveal, which will be on August 9, 2023.

The preview comes with a glimpse of the front end which features vertical LED lights hugging the sides in proper Escalade style. Meanwhile, the badge and parts of the grille are also lit up with LED lights, making the car look even more luxurious. Besides that, what we can see of the body is what you would expect for the large SUV.

The Cadillac Escalade IQ will be the brand’s first-ever all-electric full-size SUV. Cadillac claims that the SUV will reinvent the brand’s most iconic nameplate, which is a pretty big statement. The debut of Escalade IQ marks the next step in Cadillac’s commitment to offering a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade. It’s been revealed that the SUV will be produced at Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. It was renovated and retooled with a $2.2 billion investment to serve as the launchpad for GM’s EV strategy. Other vehicles produced at the factory include the Hummer EV, the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV, and the GMC Sierra EV.

Traditionally, the Escalade utilizes the same platform as Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 full-size pickups. In the case of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Sierra EV, the GM BT1 platform incorporates the company’s Ultium battery technology. The BT1 platform is expected to serve as the base architecture for everything, including an electric Chevrolet Tahoe to the go-anywhere GMC Hummer EV pickup we see today. The Cadillac Escalade IQ is expected to arrive in 2024, while the longer Escalade IQL is expected a year later in 2025.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
