800 HP IN AN 88-POUND SHELL: MEET THE ULTIMATE SHELBY COBRA

The Package Will Retail For An Absurd $1.2 Million USD

CR Carbon Fiber 1965 Shelby Cobra

In honor of the 60th anniversary of Shelby American, Classic Recreations has decided to build a history-making Carbon Fiber Shelby Cobra Race Car. By reimagining and reengineering the original Cobra, the body of the “Diamond Edition” race car weighs just 88 measly pounds thanks to its carbon fiber construction. In addition, it will be able to produce over 800 horsepower thanks to a supercharged Ford Performance Coyote V8 engine, making this thing a missile with a steering wheel when you open up the throttle.

Classic Recreations – no stranger to working with carbon fiber – only plans to build 10 of these special edition supercars. Each will feature a unique diamond-encrusted badge and the Carroll Shelby commemorative signature on the dashboard. The handcrafted interior will blend soft leather with classic muscle car instrumentation. A polished wood steering wheel enhances the gleaming chrome inlays. Altogether, the interior will combine the classic look of a Shelby with the modern feel of powerful luxury vehicle.

Carbon Fiber Shelby CSX Cobra: Fastest Cobra On The Planet?

CR Carbon Fiber 1965 Shelby Cobra

The Carbon Fiber Shelby CSX Cobra Race Car aims to be the quickest and fastest Cobra on the planet, and Classic Recreations intends on testing that statement once they complete the prototype. Hence why we have no pictures of a complete build yet.

The entire vehicle will ride on Forgeline Wheels with BF Goodrich tires wrapped around them. Wilwood 6-piston brakes at the front and Wilwood 4-piston brakes at the back will ensure that the paperweight of a car will have plenty of stopping power. The Carbon Fiber Cobra Race Car’s suspension will be made up of an independent rear suspension and coilovers at the front and rear.

It’s important to note that the Diamond Edition 1965 Shelby Cobra is for offroad use only and will not be street legal. The Carbon Fiber Shelby Race Cars will be sold for $1,200,000. Not long ago you could get a new Bugatti for that kind of money. Now it’s bespoke muscle.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
