The Silverado EV Shines As Part Of The Soprano Family

Chevrolet Silverado EV Sopranos Super Bowl LIVI Ad Electric Pickup Truck Behind The Scenes Ratings

While there was a lot of push around GM’s “EVil Motors” spotlight, dusting off the iconic Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers franchise that originally hit theaters over 20 years ago, it was a Sopranos-themed Chevrolet Silverado EV Super Bowl ad that took home a big ratings win, collecting over 11 million views on YouTube so far. By comparison, the Dr. Evil 90-second spot has currently racked up less than 750,000 views at the time of this writing.

While the late James Gandolfini who played Tony Soprano was not in the ad, nor was a halogram, the characters that play his children, Meadow and AJ were, Jamie Lyn-Sigler and Robert Iler respectively. Jamie assumes the position we’re used to seeing Tony in, driving. This time she is driving a blue Chevrolet Silverado EV. The premise of the ad is to juxtapose a “New Generation” of Soprano fans, with a new generation of Silverado customers, in the form of an electric truck.

A behind the scenes look of the Chevrolet Silverado EV Sopranos Super Bowl ad reveals the actors themselves are highly impressed and excited for the all-electric truck to make its way into their daily lives. Production for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is set to begin next spring for the fleet-only WT model, but reservations are open now.

Featured highlights of the Silverado EV include its massive infotainment center as seen in the opening seconds of the ad. The 17-inch main hub with an 11-inch digital gauge cluster in addition to a 14-inch heads up display complete the interior display panels. The Silverado floats down the New Jersey turnpike in the ad and is powered by GM’s Ultium batteries. The Silverado harnesses a 24-module pack that enables up to 400 miles of range on a single charge. The 2024 Silverado EV RST First Edition models will come with a “Wide Open Watts” mode that allows for 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque that can produce 0-60 times of 4.5 seconds, making it the quickest Silverado ever. Jamie also makes parallel parking look like second nature thanks to the four wheel steering technology the Silverado EV implements as well.
