Not long ago, HP Tuners cracked the code on the encrypted TCMs and ECMs for GM’s Global B electrical architecture. This GM Vehicle Intelligence Platform introduced encrypted engine and transmission control units on new products, starting with the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 families and then onto the Corvette. But after years of headaches for the aftermarket, HP Tuners, arguably the leader in aftermarket vehicle control modules, announced GM Global B support on select vehicles. But now they’re offering more support as a recent announcement through Facebook revealed support for even more cars. Or trucks, rather. Specifically, any new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or GMC Sierra 1500 with a Global B-encrypted E90 ECM tune. That includes both the 5.3L L84 V8 and 6.2L L87 V8 engines.

Can You Tune The Chevrolet Silverado And GMC Sierra? Yes, With HP Tuners E90 Support

HP Tuners now offers custom tuning support for vehicles equipped with the GM Global B E90 ECM, including the 2022.5-2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L and 6.2L V8. Some of GM’s lineup of family haulers from 2021-2023 also have this particular ECM equipped. HP Tuners also revealed that the tunes would only be available through select retailers, and we’re bound to see some high horsepower upgrades coming now that the support has been officially announced.

At launch, HP Tuners offered diagnostics and tuning support for the E99 ECM: found in GM vehicles like the 2020-23 Corvette C8 Stingray and Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing (and non-Blackwing variants). Additionally, limited support for cars with the T93 TCM found in E99 ECM-equipped GM vehicles with the 10-speed automatic transmission was also released. It only took a few days after this for companies like Hennessey to launch upgrade kits for the cars that boosted performance well beyond what people had been stuck with, up until now.

Pricing for the tune sits at $999.99 for the send-in service HP Tuners offers, which requires customers to send in their original ECM, and the company will send it back ready to install and enjoy.

So yeah, supercharge that new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison. Boost that Sierra 1500 AT4X. The results are bound to be spectacular.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
