“Going green” takes a whole different meaning when it comes to Quake LED’s 2021 Ford Bronco featured in an all-grass look at the annual SEMA Show that took place earlier this month.
Affectionately named the “Chia-Bronco ” this 2021 Ford Bronco is actually covered with real, sprouting chia seeds that require constant watering and a cautious attitude from eager onlookers wanting to pet it. The team at Quake LED was able to pull this off by utilizing double sided adhesive in between painters tape that sits on the vehicle’s actual paint (to protect it) and custom pattern designed indoor outdoor carpeting holding the chia in place. It took approximately four days to actually grow the chia seeds into what you see in the pictures and had to be trailered into the show from Englewood Colorado so as not to disturb the moss covered Ford.

Andon Sawyer is the builder of this Freak Show Builds custom Bronco. According to video obtained by All Terrain Nation, The Chia Bronco, pending it remains alive, will travel the country to other shows and was said to be available for purchase. Underneath the Chia is a blue full-size 2021 Ford Bronco sporting a 2.7 Liter V6 engine producing 315 Horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque sitting on Radar tires, a Skyjacker lift kit, and American Force Wheels. The Chia Bronco is also fitted with Klien Horns, as well as Led Lighting from Quake LED installed by Grant Keller, the light and sound specialist on the build who is also responsible for hooking up the DS18 sound system inside the vehicle. The Bronco also features a Quadratec – Stealth Q Performance Series Winch at the front and during the show was seen sporting a Gnome, hood ornament, because why not. It attracted the likes of many including some Hooters girls as seen on QuakeLED’s Instagram You can learn more about Freak Show Builds and their other SEMA vehicles on their website.
