It’s official, you can finally say the wait is over for the 2023 Corvette Z06. It has officially begun shipping off to customers. GM is staying true to its word about not taking any more reservations for the rest of this calendar year though. Despite this, we are all bound to see more of them on the streets in the coming days. The world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine is finally going beyond the reaches of journalist’s, celebrities, and GM employees. The Z06 having made its 30-minute long initial debut in October of last year has been one of, if not, the most highly anticipated automobiles in a while.

The Corvette Z06 has actually been in production since late September according to some communication between Corvette Blogger and Chevrolet. The First Z06, which was purchased by NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, is special in many ways. Not only does it carry VIN 001, but it also supplied Operation Homefront $3.6 million donated dollars from the sale at Barrett Jackson earlier this year. In addition to that, the first Z06 was a 70th Anniversary Edition Z06 with the Z07 performance package wearing a Carbon Flash Metallic coat.

Some more good news. While GM has stated it won’t be taking any more orders this calendar year, it has also shared they will be starting to schedule out more builds for those who have orders on hand. This news comes shortly after Bowling Green opened up its assembly plant tours to the public. While it was questionable if you’d actually witness a Z06 being built, the answer appears more optimistic now than ever before.

The Z06, which has a starting MSRP just north of $100,000 produces 670 horsepower and has an advertised 0-60 time of 2.6-seconds. Needless to say, it has been the subject of much excitement. Knowing that it’s finally shipping out is quite satisfying.
