Reeves Callaway was one of the great engineering minds behind upgrading the Corvette, and fans worldwide were stunned last week when news broke that the legend behind Callaway Cars had passed away. Though, to honor the legend, Corvettes at Carlisle has recently announced that it would be honoring Reeves in multiple ways during the August 24-26th show by way of the annual Chip’s Choice display.

How Will Corvettes At Carlisle Honor Reeves Callaway?

Callaway Cars have been offering Chevrolet Corvette upgrades since the late 1980s, but in addition to building performance packages for the legendary sports car, Reeves Callaway and his engineers also created their own designed sports cars and even raced them at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. According to Corvette Blogger, this year’s Chip’s Choice theme is all about Le Mans, and the display will include all three Callaways that raced at the famous French Summer race.

This will be the first time that all three cars will be displayed as a tribute to the man whose name is on the cars. Featured in the display will be the silver 1994 Callaway LM #001, a silver 1997 Callaway C7R, and a red, white, and blue 2001 Callaway C12R. Each car is made even more special by its unique history during the legendary races.

In addition to Chip’s Choice display, other plans to honor Reeves Callaway are currently being planned, which include some extra signage and banners at Corvettes at Carlisle, an extra moment of revving in his honor, a feature segment in the event guide, and some memorable moments planned by the Callaway Owners Group car club.

If you want to make your way to the 2024 Corvettes at Carlisle, there is still time to do so, either by registering for the Fun Field, purchasing discounted spectator tickets, or becoming a vendor in the automotive flea market. More information on this can be found on the Carlisle Events website.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
