If you’re in the market for a classic Dodge Charger but feel torn due to the lack of modern Hemi power, eXoMod Concepts has you covered with a re-bodied Challenger crafted from carbon fiber but with all the goodies that come with a modern Challenger. This is the company’s latest offering, which has been named Black Velvet.
What Is The eXoMod Black Velvet Dodge Challenger?
The eXoMod Black Velvet Dodger Challenger is a limited edition creation that combines the best of both worlds, fitting the Challenger SRT Hellcat with all-new carbon fiber bodywork that resembles the iconic 1968 Dodge Charger. That means the Black Velvet has a 717-horsepower Hellcat engine as the standard option, though customers can opt for the mighty Redeye Jailbreak configuration with 807 ponies instead.
Of course, since the Black Velvet Dodge Challenger features a carbon fiber body, 400 pounds is shaved off the weight of the Challenger, meaning the muscle car should be even more thrilling. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Torqueflite transmission, which can be controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, making driving the car on a track even more enjoyable.
The exterior of this example features custom Black Pearl paintwork, which accentuates the muscular lines of the Charger styling. The car also features a Satin Graphite accent package that underscores the sinister persona. Meanwhile, 20-inch five-spoke Forgeline wheels with 315/35 Nitto NT555 tires wrapped around them brings everything together. Lastly, the vehicle’s interior is almost identical to a new Challenger, minus the Black Laguna leather seats.
As for pricing for the 1968 Dodge Charger-inspired Challenger build, it’ll set you back $325,000 USD for the standard or $345,000 for the Jailbreak option. Additionally, it’s unclear what the exact amount of vehicles eXoMod Concepts has planned to build is. If you’re looking for another modern car with classic styling, Finale Speed has their own vehicle, which also features a carbon fiber body.
