The Electronic Drift Brake Is A Popular Option

With Ford designing the all-new S650 2024 Mustang to offer several ways for people to personalize their vehicle, the company has been kind enough to reveal the features customers are adding.

How Are Customers Building Their 2024 Ford Mustang?

The initial group of 2024 Mustang customers has chosen a few options, and it’s pretty interesting. The take rate of the High-performance Package for the Ford Mustang EcoBoost has increased by 50% compared to the previous three years. The manual transmission, available only on the Mustang GT and Dark Horse, has been chosen by 27% of customers purchasing the V8-powered models. That’s a pretty high take rate for the stick.

Preproduction computer-generated images shown. As for the available packages, 22% of S650 Mustang GT customers purchase the Performance Package, while 26% have selected the Nite Pony package, which Ford calls its blacked-out badge and accent option. As for paint colors, the top Mustang EcoBoost and GT choices are Shadow Black, Oxford White, and Rapid Red. Meanwhile, the Mustang Dark Horse has the most popular color options Blue Ember, with 39% of customers opting for that. Vapor Blue and Shadow Black fall in behind it.

Otherwise, it will be important to note just what builds are able to make it to customers first. There have already been reports of the initial start of production being pushed back, while some customers have received some letters that implied that their order wouldn’t arrive as soon as they may have hoped. Even so, the S650 Mustang is set to be the last V8 muscle car standing in about a year’s time, with the Chevrolet Camaro nameplate sunsetting once again, and with Dodge expecting to debut next-generation Charger and Challenger products with Hurricane6 twin-turbo engines.

You can find the 2024 Mustang Build & Price configurator here for yourself. Every new Ford Mustang will be built at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in southeast Michigan.

Written by Zac Quinn

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
