First introduced on the Charger as a NASCAR special, the classic Dodge Charger Daytona was known for being one of the fastest circle track race cars in the world in the early 1970’s. It has since has turned into one of the most valuable classic muscle cars in the world today, along with other collectable Mopars such as the Plymouth V8 Barracuda. Always one to look back at their history, Dodge has applied the Daytona name to the current Charger from time to time. Although it’s essentially an appearance and equipment package these days – no more radical wings and nose cones – it’s still exciting the Dodge Charger Daytona is back for 2020.

The Daytona package is available for order now on the R/T and Scat Pack models, priced at $3,495. There’s also the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Daytona 50th Anniversary edition, but that car and its ridiculously long name are limited production and very expensive. These new Daytona models are available for everyone, and add some nice features in addition to the Daytona stripe.
The package gives the same equipment on the R/T and Scat Pack models apart from different wheels and tires. The R/T also gets a black painted decklid spoiler; the Scat Pack model gets this as standard. As for the exterior, Daytona models get Daytona decals on the hood, roof and trunk, and a Daytona grille badge. The package is compatible with all 12 bold Dodge colors, three of which are new for 2020. The Daytona package only adds one actual performance part, a MOPAR cold air intake.

The Daytona package adds many interior features as well. There’s Daytona badging carried through to the seats, dashboard and gauge cluster. There’s also LED interior lighting, power front and heated front and rear seats, power steering column adjuster, illuminated cup holders, memory seats and mirrors. If anyone is hanging around in your blind spot checking out your rear Daytona badging, rest assured there is blind spot monitoring.
While this package carries forward as mostly an appearance and options package, something about the Daytona name on the back of the Charger is undeniably cool. Plus, all of these options together are decent bang for your buck.
