Ever since Dodge introduced the Brass Monkey wheel option on the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, they have been a popular choice. But for some unclear reason, they haven’t been available for 2020 Dodge Hellcat models. But now, according to Mopar Insiders, they are back. This is finally some good news for muscle car fans to look forward to once FCA’s Brampton, Ontario, plant is back up and running. The plant shut down along with all other Detroit Three plants because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
While the Brass Monkey option is just a wheel finish, it happens to look fantastic. Its a deep copper-bronze color, more unique than silver or black. The package also follows Dodge’s tradition of creative naming, in this case taking inspiration from the famous Beastie Boys song. For the Challenger and Charger Widebody models, the color will be available on their massive 20 by 11 inch “Devils Rim” alloy wheels.

If the Widebody models aren’t for you, the Brass Monkey finish will be available on the “standard” Dodge Hellcat power couple. Here, the color will return for the 20 by 9.5 inch alloy wheels.
For 2020, all cars with the Brass Monkey wheel package will also get special badging. Exterior badges will be finished in a special dark black and bronze color. For all models, the Brass Monkey package will be available for order at $1,095. We think the look they bring is so great that it’s worth the price of entry.
Dodge did little to alter the ancient Charger and Challenger for 2020. But with sales (before COVID that is) record high, why mess with a success? Reintroducing the bronze wheel finish should continue the success of Dodge’s core models. Hopefully once production restarts, we can see more of these special wheels on the road.
