When Dodge released the SRT Hellcat twins back in 2015, the mega-powerful Mopar muscle cars completely disrupted the order of things. The supercharged 6.2L V8 engine found under the hood of the Hellcat models immediately became a legend in its own right, thanks to its ludicrous power rating of 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. While other muscle cars like the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 boast well over 700 horsepower today, the 797 hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye remains atop of the throne. Now courtesy of Dodge, you might just be able to win one.
The Dodge Horsepower Challenge is currently taking place, with the first week of the contest just coming to a close. The challenge will take place over the course of five weeks starting November 5th, during which Dodge will release one multiple choice question every Tuesday on their website. Every day clues will be posted throughout the brand’s Twitter and Instagram pages, hidden in the form of hashtags buried within imagery. Each week one lucky Dodge fan who answered the question correctly will be chosen as the winner of a TorRed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
The first question was announced on the Dodge website by professional wrestler and member of the Brotherhood of Muscle Bill Goldberg, who will return each week to pose the horsepower-inspired trivia questions. The clip on Dodge’s website proves that the questions aren’t going to be particularly easy, but of course that is part of the fun. If you’ve ever wondered how fast you could drive up Pikes Peak if it were a straight road in a 797 horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, we suggest giving the video a watch.
We have quite a thing for the Dodge Challenger here MC&T, especially when it comes to giveaway cars like the 1,100 horsepower Petty’s Garage Dodge Challenger we reported on earlier this year. While the SRT Hellcat Redeye is a bit more tame than that grand-prize car, we are positive that the five lucky winners of the Dodge Horsepower Challenge won’t mind at all.
