ELECTRIC RAM PICKUP COULD BE CALLED ‘REV’

A Recent Trademark Filing Suggests That The Upcoming Truck Could Have A Short Name

Ram’s anticipated electric pickup truck will debut in concept form next month at CES in Las Vegas, and though we thought the 2024 Ram 1500 EV would use the name Ram Revolution, it turns out that was just a name for the marketing campaign leading up to the truck’s reveal. According to trademark filings filed by FCA US LLC with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the new pickup will be called the Ram 1500 REV.

Ram 1500 REV Trademark: Details

Though, trademark filings may not amount to anything or could be intended for a different product. If the new trademark is to be believed, the actual name isn’t far off from the revolution. The trademark was filed on December 20, 2022, for “land vehicles, namely, passenger trucks.”

It’s clear what Ram intends for this trademark based on the category, but trademarks aren’t always guaranteed to be predictive. REV is a simple name that could effectively differentiate Ram’s electric option from the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV. However, with the expectation that Ram has given the upcoming truck, that should be easy to do anyways.

Of course, REV uses the same starting letters as revolution, but it may also refer to the previously confirmed range extender version. Stellantis executives have also dropped several hints in regards to the expected capabilities of the Ram Revolution, or REV, or whatever it ends up being called. This includes class-leading range and towing capabilities.

As for the Ram Revolution name, it could end up holding its place as a communications hub between truck customers and the Ram brand. Currently, Ram Revolution insiders enjoy early access to electric Ram design illustrations, as well as being voices to deliver input and feedback on just what kind of plug-in pickup truck Stellantis needs to make.

The electric Ram pickup truck will debut next week during the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during a keynote speech given by none other than Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
