Ram is dropping all Hemi V8 variants with the arrival of the refreshed 2025 1500 pickup. That means that the beloved Ram TRX super truck and its awesome supercharged V8 will be cut from the roster. However, Stellantis has a plan to backfill the TRX with something that’s just as capable (if not more capable) off road, but with a different powertrain. Dubbed the Ram 1500 RHO (Ram High Output), the Stellantis truck brand has just released a teaser video for the upcoming truck. Under the hood is expected to be the six-cylinder Hurricane High Output engine with around 540 horsepower on tap.
Ram 1500 RHO Teaser: Details
You can watch the trailer for yourselves Just above. Here, we see the Ram 2500 Rebel towing a flatbed trailer with a truck draped in a desert camouflage. The main takeaway from the video is that April 25 is displayed below the Ram logo, indicating the official reveal date of the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. The pickup is intended to be the band’s answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, and Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, all of which are designed for high-speed fun in the desert.
Since the Ram RHO unlikely to have 700+ horsepower, hopefully it’s more affordable than the Ram TRX that preceeds it. Perhaps a new TRX will resurface with a supercharged V8 somebody, but until then, the Ram RHO is expected to have many familier off-roading parts, including 35-inch tires, Bilstein suspension, a wider track, and a steel bash plate.
