The buildup for the Ram 1500 RHO has been going on for a couple of months now, including various sightings of the replacement for the beloved supercharged Hemi V8 TRX. The new RHO uses a smaller Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six. Due to losing the potent engine that helped make the Ram TRX the legendary pickup it was, the Ram 1500 RHO replacement will be a bit cheaper.
2025 Ram 1500 RHO: Pricing And Details
The first-ever 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is priced at $71,990 USD, including the $1,995 destination fee. That’s $26,345 cheaper than the outgoing Ram 1500 TRX. In the grand scheme of things, the 2025 Ram RHO is sitting at a pretty competitive spot with the competition now as the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor costs $80,325, the Raptor R costs $111,550, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 weighs in at $71,895, and the 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro comes in at $73,980.
The 3.0-liter six-cylinder Hurricane engine found under the hood of the Ram RHO is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. That’s 162 horsepower less than the $98,335 Ram TRX, which isn’t a drastic decrease, all things considered, though it’s not surpassing the 700 hp number either. Those power figures are still good enough to accelerate the truck from 0-60 MPH in just 4.6 seconds, which is just 0.1 seconds slower than the TRX. The quarter-mile comes in at 13.1 seconds, 0.2 seconds slower than the TRX. So this is still set to be an enjoyable truck to get behind the wheel of, even without the beautiful sounds of a supercharged Hemi beneath the hood.
Ram has also stated that the RHO can tow 8,380 pounds, which is 280 pounds more than the TRX. The two trucks are relatively matched despite the RHO having two cylinders less than the TRX. Of course, pavement figures aren’t the only thing the RHO needs to excel at to truly be the replacement for the TRX. The new truck delivers on that front as well. Using the same Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks with 14 inches of travel, active damping, a taller ride height, forged aluminum control arms, beadlock wheels, 35-inch tires, and more. The truck is set to be just as capable off-road as its predecessor.
Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024, but interested parties can place their orders for a 2025 Ram 1500 RHO now.
