Many are likely watching horror movies in light of the Halloween season, and a question that probably won’t come to mind is what vehicles are used the most within the horror genre. However, sitting down and spending hours upon hours watching movies and counting out how many of the same cars are showcased is a fascinating pastime if you’ve seen a number of the films multiple times already. The Ford F-Series comes to mind as the trucks have been featured numerous times throughout the Horror genre’s lifespan.

If the question has been on your mind, Bristol Street Motors put in the work to uncover what the “spookiest” vehicles of all time are, based on their appearances within horror films.

Ford F-150 Tops The 10 “Spookiest” Cars

The Ford F-150, or the F-Series as a whole, has been able to boast of being the number one truck for the longest time, and that holds to the horror genre as it has been ranked at the top of the list with 13 different appearances across the films that made Empire online’s 50 Best Horror Films. Of those 50 films, Bristol Street Motors had to take note of almost 700 vehicles. If that doesn’t say commitment, we don’t know what does.

Perhaps what is actually spooky, is that the Ford F-Series also ends up at the top of certain most stolen vehicle lists. Suppose that’s what happens when you’re America’s best selling vehicle as a whole. The numbers are just bigger. spooky bigger.

The F-Series trucks weren’t the only Ford Vehicles to have appearances within the “spooky” genre. Within the top ten list of vehicles, appearances are the Ford Crown Victoria, Cadillac Fleetwood, Chevrolet C/K, Ford Custom, Ford LTD Country Squire, Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Escort, Ford Mustang, and Ford Transit.

Top 10 “Spookiest” Manufacturers

Altogether Ford becomes the scariest automaker of all time with 113 total appearances while Chevrolet is second with 64. This is merely in terms of the frequency of their horror movie appearances, and nothing else, by the way.

Following the two, Volkswagen, Dodge, Fiat, Pontiac, Toyota, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Honda fill up the remaining spaces of the top 10.

With all that said, you can now tell your friends during your Halloween parties about the Ford F-Series or Ford, in general, being the scariest automaker within the Horror movie franchise.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
