Come Nov 2-5, you’ll probably see a lot of custom Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks at the 2021 SEMA show in Las Vegas, but maybe none as extreme as this 700 hp supercharged Silverado RST with a Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am theme. Texas-based Legendary Concept partnered with Saleen (yes, that Saleen) for this year’s SEMA build, which really takes the whole Trans Am retro theme to a level we haven’t seen before.

SEMA Smokey & The Bandit Supercharged Chevrolet Silverado

This supercharged Smokey-themed Pontiac Trans Am truck is based on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado RST Crew Cab, featuring a bespoke widebody kit with unique aerodynamics, wheels, and interior. Under the hood is a 5.3L L83 V8 engine featuring a Magnuson DI supercharger that boosts output to a Hellcat-rivaling 700 horsepower, complete with a Magnaflow exhaust kit. Keeping this big muscle truck under control are Brembo 8-piston monoblock brakes, and Toyo Proxes ST III tires.

The custom aerodynamic widebody kit features a front-splitter, side skirts, bulged-out fender flares, and what appears to be some type of replica hood scoop from the 1977 Smokey and The Bandit Trans Am. And of course, this kind of themed truck would not be complete without a gold bird on the hood. Big bird energy.

2021 SEMA Show

This supercharged Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will be found at the Toyo Tires Treadpass, which returns for the 8th time. It will be one of 35 customized vehicles on display between the Central and South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will be complimented by art installations by Joshua Vildes.

GM fans will also want to stop by the Chevrolet Performance booth durning the 2021 SEMA Show, which will feature over a dozen vehicles on display. The highlights will likely be the C8 Corvette Z06, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, the Chad Hall Racing Silverado ZR2, a Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 built by Hoonigan featuring the 1000+ horsepower ZZ632 10.4L big block V8 crate engine, along with the new COPO Camaro featuring a new 572 cubic-inch V8 big block. We’re sure there’s going to be an electrified play or two in there somewhere, but we’ll have to wait and see.
