FORD MUSTANG TO THROW ITSELF A 60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY, TEASES SPECIAL EDITION MODEL

A Celebration To Remember

Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Edition Teaser

Nearly sixty years ago, Ford unveiled the original Mustang at the World’s Fair in New York in 1964. On April 17, the legendary muscle car will celebrate its birthday during an epic Mustang fan event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. But things don’t stop there, as Ford has also released a teaser image of an upcoming special edition Mustang.

Owners and fans in attendance at the event will be among the first to lay eyes on the exclusive limited edition 60th Anniversary Appearance Package. This unique offering, along with new, exclusive Mustang ownership experiences rolling out over the next year, is a testament to fans’ special connection with the Mustang. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to meet Ford Performance racing drivers and get up close and personal with monster Mustangs, including the Mustang Mach-E 1400 and the array of GT3 and GT4s all in one place. Ride-alongs in Mustangs on a drift track and around Charlotte’s famed Roval will give a first-hand taste of what’s in store with the Mustang’s new ownership experiences on the way.

Customers, clubs, and dealers have been invited to celebrate the spirit of the legendary Ford Mustang Muscle car. They can register for the event here. If you cannot attend, fret not, as the event will be livestreamed starting at 5 p.m. EDT on April 17. Oh, the joys of modern technology.

Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Appearance Package: Teaser

For the Ford Mustang limited edition 60th Anniversary Appearance package, teaser images that Ford was willing to share reveal retro-themed badges, which Motor1 enhanced via Photoshop to offer a greater visual than what was initially offered. We can see that the 5.0 and GT badges are set on a striped red background. Of course, the Chevron-styled 60-year rendering will also be applied to cars somehow. Since the limited edition is an appearance package, there won’t be any changes made to the performance output of the vehicle.

It would be cool if Ford did something similar to the Heritage Edition Broncos, where the paint job is a clear callback to the muscle cars that started it all. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to find out what’s in store.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
