Off-road vehicles are what people want these days, and GMC’s lineup of SUVs and pickup trucks is perfect for the current market trends. That’s why GMC introduced the AT4 off-road trim level to the majority of their vehicles. It gives the visual flair people want from a beefed up all terrain vehicle, and has some real off-road performance to back it up. The AT4 trim level is especially popular on the Sierra pickup, and GMC is giving buyers a convenient to Value Package to give customers the most desirable options in one place for the 2021 model year.
Per the official 2021 GMC Sierra order guide, the new AT4 Value Package (RPO Code RFV), essentially combines the AT4 Preferred Package and Driver Alert Package. The Preferred Pack brings Universal Home Remote, rear sliding power window, 8 Infotainment with navigation, Bose Premium Audio System and wireless charging. The Driver Alert pack comes with safety features like front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring with lane change alert, rear cross traffic alert and perimeter lighting. To top it off, the 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 Value Package gives 18 inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. All together, the package costs $2,605 but is currently discounted by $500 to $2,105. It’s unclear how long this discount will stick around.
Separately, these packages would cost $2,310, straddling between the discount and list price. Putting them together makes the package easier for customers and dealerships alike when ordering, though, and looks like a popular box for 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 owners to tick.
The AT4 trim line has been popular for the GMC Sierra, but it’s not without competition. Ram offers the 1500 Rebel, and Chevrolet provides some internal competition with their Silverado 1500 Trail Boss. Although significantly less popular, the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is also in the segment. Ford will also join it this year with the F-150 Tremor. These light duty off-road pickups provide a compelling choice for buyers who want serious off-road capability, but don’t need something like the Raptor or TRX in terms of performance or price. The 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 Value Package is just another way an automaker is trying to gain interest in a hot segment.
