There is an age-old adage that goes as follows: everything’s bigger in Texas. And while we’re sure that you could find some exceptions to this saying, there is one area in which this is utterly true: the pickup truck market. Texas is the center of the truck-loving universe here in the United States, so much so that automakers regularly release special edition models exclusively for the Lone Star State. Stellantis is the latest company to jump on this wagon, by way of the all new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Texas Trail. Here’s everything you need to know about this new Texas-tribute.

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Texas Trail is based on the Sport S trim, and comes with a few tweaks over the nationally available model. Features like side steps, a black hardtop, 17-inch black aluminum wheels, 32-inch mud-terrain tires, the Trailer Tow Group and the Technology group come as standard. The package also includes some unique nods to the state itself, including Texas Trail graphics on the hood and tailgate. These graphics even include the numbers 1836, which is a reference to the year in which Texas declared independence. The graphics package continues inside as well, where customers will find black leather seats embossed with the Texas Trail logo.

Customers will have their choice of either the 3.0L EcoDiesel or the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engines. The diesel produces 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, whereas the gasser is rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The gas engine can be had with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Opt for the diesel, and this Texas-themed truck can only be had with the slushbox. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Texas Trail is available in 10 exterior colors: black, white, Snazzberry, Granite Crystal, Sarge, Nacho, Hydro Blue, Firecracker Red, Billet Silver and Sting-Gray.

Further cementing their dedication to the Lone Star State, Stellantis has added two Texan trails to their Badge of Honor trail list. Now joining the lineup are the Black Gap 4×4 trail in Big Bend National Park, and the Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport.

Customers can order the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Texas Trail now, which starts at $40,435. As the name might suggest, the truck is only offered by dealerships based in the state. That might be a bit of a bummer to some, but you can always take a trip on down to one of the most unique places in this country.
