Today is Jeep 4xe Day which means we got a look into its plan for the next generation of fully electric 4xe vehicles as part of a sustainable transformation to become the leading electrified SUV brand in the world. As part of the video presentation on the brand’s YouTube channel, we’ve seen that it will be launching four all-electric models by 2025. But, if that wasn’t all, Jeep plans to offer electrified 4xe models across the entire range by 2025. One of which will be the Wagoneer.
Jeep Wagoneer 4xe: Details
Building upon the success of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in the U.S., and the recently introduced Grand Cherokee 4xe, the brand is developing a comprehensive electrified product range to enhance the brand’s legendary capability and expand its reach in North America. While the brand will offer an all-new, all-electric Wagoneer in the premium midsize SUV segment, the large SUV segment will receive Wagoneer models with powertrains that target an estimated 500 miles of combined range. Note the charge port and the electric blue tow hooks in the teaser images.
That means owners can drive from New York, New York to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with just one initial charge. That’s extremely impressive and means that the worry of not making it to a charging or gas station would be almost entirely alleviated for customers. In addition, by 2030, the Jeep brand will offer a full range of new battery-electric vehicles (BEV), establishing a lead in the SUV industry in terms of the number of models, segment participation, and sales volume. As a result, 50% of brand sales in the U.S. will be all-electric vehicles.
We’ve gotten a glimpse at the upcoming portfolio for Jeep, and it looks like, and within the next 24 months, 4xe will truly become the new 4×4, at least as far as Jeep is concerned.
