The S650 Ford Mustang has plenty of reasons for people to get excited. It has a refreshed body that pays homage to the original muscle car, bringing it into the future, and upgraded engines to improve power and efficiency. Undoubtedly, they’ll be in high demand, especially as the competitors are retreating from the muscle car space. That said, some noticeable changes have been made to the pony car, some quite useful.
S650 Ford Mustang Order Guide: Details
Starting with the 2024 S650 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, the MSRP will come in at $30,920; remember that this will be the base starting price for the 2024 Mustang. If customers opt for the Premium package, that price will jump to $36,445. The EcoBoost convertible will only be available with the premium package bringing its price to $41,945. As for the Mustang GT, its starting price will be $41,495, and $46,015 for the premium. The convertible will set customers back $51,970. Now last but not least is the S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse which will start at $57,970. All of these prices exclude the destination and delivery fee of $1,595.
The GT Performance package, which adds more power and fun to the 2024 Mustang GT, will add $4,995 to the overall price of the vehicle, but when considering what comes with it, that may be worth the extra cost. Here are some other high-priced options:
- The available custom hood and painted stripe package on the 2024 Ford Mustang sees an MSRP of $5,495 USD.
- The Handling Package for the Mustang Dark Horse sees an MSRP of $4,500 USD.
- Want carbon fiber wheels on your S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse? That’s an additional $8,495 USD.
A Mustang7g forum member pointed out that hood struts are standard for the S650 Mustang, meaning the reliable ol’ arm to hold up the hood has been phased out.
Also, we couldn’t help but notice that Ford decided to do away with AM Radio for the car. However, Ford decided to add USB charging ports to the mirror so customers could add dash cams or radar detectors to their vehicles while reducing the wire clutter in the cabin.
Additionally, we mentioned this before, but it doesn’t hurt to reiterate, especially since it’s on the order guide that the manual transmission for the EcoBoost has been removed. That trim is only available with an automatic. So, if you want a manual, you must opt for a GT or Dark Horse. Regarding safety features, all 2024 Ford Mustangs are equipped with Post-Impact Braking, which essentially does as you would think. The car will brake after an impact, just in case the driver goes unconscious.
